Safe for your child - Nothing is more important to us than safety. We know that children sometimes play with toys in other ways than expected, and that’s why we test our products thoroughly. We set very strict safety requirements, and in many cases our own testing is tougher than the legal requirements. Develops important skills - Playing with train sets helps children to understand and learn about their environment in a fun way, whilst the small features and details help to improve fine motor skills. Compatibility - As your child develops, so can their railway play as the Adventure Tunnel is compatible with all other BRIO railway toys. Perfect for the creative toddler - Expand your budding train engineer's collection with an Adventure Tunnel toy train accessory. It’s the perfect gift at Christmas or over the holiday season for the creative toddler - designed for ages 3 and up. This one was a huge hit!
Got this for 2yr old for Christmas to add to the Thomas trains. He got several presents to add to the collection this one was top of the list! Almost a month later he still picks it over some others.

Awesome addition to the wooden track
Awesome sounds and my son likes how the bridge collapses and he gets a kick out of it when the train goes down the hill. I definitely, recommend it if your child loves trains.

Best tunnel option hands down!
Update July 2018: Unit randomly started making noises again, but only sometimes and it seems like it's harder to generate the sound despite battery changes etc. This peice still occasionally gets love as mostly dinosaurs pass through it now or the rare Thomas/Percy train, but it's remained his favorite train accessory hands down and I'd say at almost 3 now, I doubt the train phase is coming back around (but ya never know, so we keep it all.) Update 11/2017: I came back to update my review to 3 stars instead of 5. The reason is that the track no longer makes the sounds when a car is moving over it. You're supposed to be able to press the yellow button at the top to make the noises, which still works, or you're supposed to be able to roll a train car over the track and it's supposed to automatically make the noise. That was a huge bonus for us and the reason why my son absolutely loved this piece so I'm sad that it's stopped working. I would say that this toy has gotten moderate to light use from us. For the first couple of months, my son adored this piece and played with it almost every day, which is a testament to the interest it would garner with a child who really loves train sets. However it's been sitting mostly unused on the shelf since this summer, and it's been well cared for. I'm not sure what made it stop working as my son in general is incredibly easy on his toys and gentle unless it's a T-rex. ???? So this is our first brio item. We have Melissa and Doug, Thomas, and Imagenurium brands with a few off brand no name trains from Walmart and Amazon. Everything fits with this tunnel compatibility wise, no issues there. I looked all over the Internet for the best tunnel for my then 15 month old who's started getting into the train tables at TRU/Barnes and Nobles. I wanted something that was natural looking, interesting, and large enough to hold interest. The 4 sound bytes on this tunnel are great - not too loud, not so quiet - they are adequately loud without being annoying. It seems to be fairly sensitive as the only time a train goes through without triggering the noise is perhaps when another sound byte just went off from a previous train and maybe there needs to be a few seconds between trains to trigger the sound. No matter as you have the option of pressing the yellow button on top to generate sound anyway. Although we don't have any Brio figures, the yellow bridge on top of the tunnel is big enough for Lego guys as a size reference. Kiddo loves flipping it up and down however and sometimes trains drive over that too (though obviously in a very rough way). It seems like an odd feature, but it adds interest to the toy. Although my toddler is fairly easy going on his toys compared to a lot of kids I've seen, I'd still say the item is incredibly durable as it's made from a hard, very sturdy solid plastic speckled with paint on the exterior adding to the realism. This peice is by far the favorite train table accesory, and we have quite a few already. The only concerns one may have involve the size of the item (it's kinda big) and the height of the trains going through the tunnel -only because the track inside of the tunnel isn't flat, but has a slight incline then decline, a mini hill, if you will. All of our trains make the clearance, but I'd be more concerned with Chuggington brand which are supposedly wider and taller than other brands. I would absolutely recommend this item to any age train lover. Would make a great addition to any set.

This is a great, affordable accessory to any wooden train table (I have a Kidfraft). This tunnel is NOT too loud as others have reported. Perhaps Brio corrected that or others received a problematic lot, but the volume is perfect and I would not even describe it as very loud. I actually wish it were louder because the sounds themselves (a locomotive, truck horn, owl hooting and men working) are all (more or less) loud noises themselves. The cave has steps on it which is great for toddlers wanting to 'role play' with small figurines (this does not come with any but any small figure will do - I also purchased the safari crossing, another cool Brio accessory and that came with a small figure which can be used with this). The bridge moves up and down manually - I couldn't tell from the illustrations if it lifted when the button was pressed - the button activates the noises - as does the sensor on the tracks when a train passes through). Maybe I am living vicariously through my children with their train table, but I definitely recommend this product.

Great Accessory for any Wooden Railway Set
My 2 year old daughter really loves this tunnel. I purchased the Brio Adventure Tunnel to go along with a Thomas Wooden Railway set I purchased her. The tracks of both brands are fully compatible. She really enjoys pushing trains through the tunnel and it is her favorite piece of the train set to play with. The tunnel makes 4 different sounds as trains or cars go through the tunnel. The sound effects can also be activated by pressing a button on the top of the tunnel. One small issue is that some of the Thomas trains do not activate the sound effects every time they pass through the tunnel. However, this only happens with a few individual engines that may have slightly different dimensions than the other trains and it happens so rarely that my daughter does not notice. The sound effects are not too loud as several other reviewers mentioned. The sound level is perfect in my opinion. Visually the tunnel looks great and it feels very well made. I am very happy with the quality and will buy more Brio products in the future.

I can’t keep my hands off of this tunnel.
We can’t keep our hands off of this tunnel. It’s my favorite Brio toy; we got it over a year ago. I love the sounds it makes when a train piece goes through it. You can even press a button to make the sounds whenever you want to. Very durable. It has access on the top ( yellow) The kids play with it. It goes up and down. Very satisfied.
